Geo News Report Two Deaths Instead Of One

Claim: In a recent report, Pakistan’s prominent news channel@geonews_urdu disclosed details of a shooting incident near Faizabad, Islamabad, resulting in the death of two police officers. The report further claimed that the deceased included a CIA Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and a constable, citing police sources.

Reality: According to our team’s investigation and verified sources, this news has proven to be completely false. Official statements released by @ICT_Police and the district administration reveal that the actual situation was quite different. @ICT_Police confirmed that a CIA team conducted a raid near Faizabad targeting criminal suspects. During the operation, the suspects opened indiscriminate fire on the police. ASI Sudheer Ahmed Abbasi was martyred in the encounter, while Constable Jaffar Jahangir sustained injuries and was immediately shifted to PIMS Hospital. He is now reported to be in stable condition. According to the district administration, ADC General Sahibzada Yousaf, DIG Islamabad and other senior officials visited the hospital, where they inquired about the injured officer’s health and instructed the hospital administration to ensure the best medical care. The spokesperson confirmed that the officer sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, but the X-ray was clear and arrangements for blood transfusion had been made.

Conclusion: Although @geonews_urdu is regarded as one of Pakistan’s leading news channels, it hastily reported two fatalities instead of one, without proper verification. Such unverified reporting not only spreads unnecessary panic among the public but also causes emotional distress to the families of the martyred and injured officers. Responsible journalism demands that all news be thoroughly confirmed before being broadcast. #Faizabad#ShootingIncident#CIAraid#TwoOfficersDied#FalseReport#UnverifiedNews#FakeNews
