Fact-Check” No Indian Attack on Pakistan – Viral Video Proven to be Gaza Footage

Claim:

Amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the #PahalgamAttack, misleading and false information continues to circulate on Indian social media platforms. Recently, an Indian social media influencer shared a video on Twitter, claiming that @AJEnglish released new footage showing an alleged Indian military strike in Sialkot, Pakistan.

Reality:

Our team’s investigation has confirmed that this claim is entirely false and misleading. The video in question does not depict any event in Sialkot, Pakistan. Instead, it is footage from an Israeli airstrike on November 7, 2023, which targeted the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza. The footage, originally aired by @AJEnglish, @BBCUrdu, @Reuters and other international outlets, shows the aftermath of the bombing, including widespread destruction and civilian casualties. At the time of the attack the Indonesian Hospital was providing medical care to Palestinians. The hospital was sheltering around 150 patients, 100 medical staff members and thousands of displaced civilians. The airstrike led to the tragic deaths of at least 12 individuals, including patients, medical staff, and civilians and left many others injured.

Conclusion:

It has been conclusively verified that the video is unrelated to any Indian military action and pertains to a completely separate incident. The spread of such misleading information only contributes to confusion and could escalate tensions between both countries. Social media users are urged to verify the authenticity of any content before sharing it to prevent the dissemination of disinformation. #IndiaPakistanWar #IndianAirStrike #Sialkot #fakenews #StopModiFascism @kiranpatel1977
