Claim: As discussions over a potential Gaza ceasefire gained momentum on July 7, and during a widely publicized meeting between U.S. President DonaldTrump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House, a tweet began circulating online falsely claiming that Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja M.Asif had issued a strong warning in support of Gaza. The post, shared by a Twitter account named Iran Updates (@hehe_samir), stated:

“BREAKING | Pakistani Defense Minister: If Trump fails to halt the war on Gaza this week, we will send naval food convoys directly to Gaza. Any interception will compel us to respond militarily. Gaza is not alone…our patience is running out.” The tweet was among the first to emerge during the ongoing diplomatic activity and quickly went viral, drawing thousands of views and sparking mixed reactions.

Fact-Check: Following the viral circulation of the claim, our verification team conducted an in-depth fact-check. The findings are outlined below:

1. No Official Statement or Supporting Evidence: There is no trace of any such statement issued by Defence Minister KhawajaMAsif across his verified social media accounts, official government platforms or public speeches. There are no press releases or official transcripts to validate the wording or sentiment of the viral quote.

2. No Official Response from the Pakistani Government: Following the Trump–Netanyahu meeting in the White House, there has been no public reaction from Govt of Pakistan ,Foreign Office, Defence Ministry, or any cabinet member referencing the talks or Gaza policy. Pakistan’s position on Gaza remains consistent with earlier diplomatic statements and no escalation has been signaled.

3. Absence of Media Coverage: Leading local and international news organizations such as Dawn, Geo News, ARY News, Al Jazeera, Reuters and others have not published such reports. If such a serious statement—especially one involving military action related to the Gaza conflictconflict—had been real, it would have received wide media coverage and prompted official diplomatic responses.

4. Claim Originated from a Parody Account: The source of the viral claim is @ hehe_samir a Twitter account that clearly identifies itself as a “parody account” in its profile description.
