The Journal of Misinformation and Society (JMS) is pleased to announce the launch of its inaugural issue. JMS is a peer-reviewed, annually published academic journal dedicated to advancing critical research on misinformation, disinformation, and the broader challenges of information disorder in today’s interconnected world.

As a multidisciplinary platform, JMS welcomes contributions from communication studies, sociology, political science, psychology, journalism, media studies, information science, and related disciplines. The journal aims to provide a rigorous and international forum for examining the causes, dynamics, and consequences of false and misleading information across diverse social, political, cultural, and technological contexts.

We invite submissions of original research articles, theoretical papers, case studies, policy analyses, and critical reviews that engage with, but are not limited to, the following themes:

  • The production, dissemination, and reception of misinformation and disinformation.

  • The role of digital platforms, algorithms, and AI in shaping information flows.

  • Impacts of information disorder on democracy, governance, health, and security.

  • Media literacy, fact-checking, and public awareness interventions.

  • Policy responses, regulations, and ethical considerations in addressing misinformation.

By bringing together diverse perspectives, JMS seeks to advance global scholarship and inform evidence-based solutions that strengthen information integrity and societal resilience.

Submissions are now open for the upcoming issue. For author guidelines, editorial policies, and submission details, please visit our website.
